Day three – Bagan

Up at the ungodly hour of 3.45am to make our way to the ancient city of Bagan- the largest archeological site in South East Asia. We made it to our hotel by 9am, and latched on to the fabulous wifi. Contact with the outside world has been a little limited since arriving here, hence why everyone grabbed the chance of sending off emails to families.

We were off to a local market to be ripped off for souvenirs as usual! Then we visited the beautiful, but not as spectacular as the one in Yangon, the golden Shwezigon Pagoda.

Later in the evening we were lucky to catch the beautiful sunset over the river. Amazing.

Dinner was by the river while we enjoyed a marionette show. Looking forward to tomorrow’s bike tour of the many temples dotted around the city!
